About Us
Sixty-five years on the road. Two generations in the family. One yard.
Richardson Haulage has spent six decades supplying the contractors, concrete plants and Tier 1 clients that move Western Sydney forward.
Founded in Penrith in 1960 by Ron and Lynette Richardson and still owned by the family, we operate a Kenworth truck-and-dog fleet across the Sydney metro, Newcastle, Wollongong, the Blue Mountains and Lithgow.

65+ Year Journey
Richardson Haulage has always been run on hard work, dedication and professionalism. From the yard to the cab, we take pride in our work.

1960
One Bedford truck, one handshake
Ron and Lynette Richardson establish the business in Emu Plains with a single Bedford truck and a loan from Lynette's grandmother. Ron started the business by hauling produce, grapes and dairy feed between Penrith farms and the Sydney markets, loaded both ways.
1970s
From tabletop to tipper
As the Castlereagh dairy farms give way to quarries, Ron transitions the fleet from tabletop trucks to tippers. The trucks are painted in Independent Concrete livery, beginning the long shift to raw materials haulage.

1980s
The Peachtree Road yard
The business outgrows the home office in Emu Plains and moves to a dedicated yard at 10 Peachtree Road, Penrith. Warren joins as in-house diesel mechanic. Bradley and David follow as drivers.
1990s
Growing Our Fleet
A 40-year working relationship with Boral begins, alongside other major contracts. The fleet grows steadily to a settled 12 trucks, deliberately sized so every driver is personally known.

2000s
25 years at the Museum of Fire
A quarter century of competing at the Museum of Fire truck show. Numerous best-in-class and best-tipper wins. A fleet known across the industry for its presentation and standards.
2012
The Next Generation
Following Ron's passing, Warren, Bradley and David expand the operation beyond the historical fleet size while keeping it personally managed.
The Kenworth fleet became the standard.
